Police have been searching for an unidentified man who robbed an Eltingville bodega in Staten Island just after midnight on Oct. 20. The assailant fled the scene in what police described as a Livery vehicle.
The suspect entered Sun Fruit Market, located at 3870 Richmond Ave., and brandished what appeared to be a firearm, according to an NYPD spokesman. A 71-year-old employee told police the man ordered him to empty the register, then made off with about $500. No injuries were reported.
A monitor within direct view of the front entrance indicated multiple surveillance cameras throughout the property. Police are reviewing the footage.
Cops initiated a level-one mobilization, indicating a large search, as they hunted for the suspect in the aftermath of the stick-up, which occurred around 12:30am, according to emergency radio transmissions.
