A stolen Taxi crashed on a busy street corner in Manhattan, after hitting three other cars on Oct. 18. The crash occurred on the Upper East Side near 88th St. and Lexington Ave., after police attempted to stop the stolen Taxi. Police say no pedestrians were hit.

The incident began around 10:00am, when a Taxi driver left his cab unattended on 610 Columbus Avenue near West 90th Street on the Upper West Side. The assailant jumped into the car and drove away, police said. Hours later, at 4:36pm, police in East Harlem saw the Taxi at a red light and tried to pull it over, but the assailant refused to stop, police said.

Around 5:00pm, police responded to a reported crash at the intersection of Lexington Avenue and East 88th Street. Video from the scene released after the crash, showed the SUV taxi with front-end damage as emergency responders blocked off a stretch of Lexington Ave.

The FDNY was on the scene and took one person to the hospital. The suspect fled, according to police.
